Henri IV - An unfinished reign

François de Malherbe

François de Malherbe was a French poet.

Presented to the king in 1605, his poetic output swung between occasional court poetry to a search for a pure linguistic form that anticipated classicism and influenced subsequent poetry for the next two centuries.
