(text by Théodore de Bèze)

Here, the first stanza of Théodore de Bèze's French paraphrase of Psalm 69 (from the Genevan Psalter) has been set to music by Loys Bourgeois. The Psalter, the final version of which dates to 1562, was rapidly adopted by all Calvinists. The monody of the Psalter is harmonised with the organ.

Transcription (in French)

Helas !
